Wood Cutting Ceiling Laylight.          After so many attempts to cut the pattern on MDF we finally had a successful one.  I adjusted the the pattern to ensure the fragile lines would connect and had an approx. 5mm to ensure stubility.   Now our next step is to cut our acrylic (recycle glass) to highlight the leaves and berries.

Recycled Glass Ceiling Laylight.          We adjusted the shape of the leaves and berries to be slightly larger then the MDF cut out panel in Illustrator.  We then arranged the shapes accordingly to the colours, which will be used to cut out on the Acrylic.  Making sure the shapes are placed on the Acrylic with minimum wastage, we then begin to laser-cut our leaves and berries.

Once completed with the laser-cutting process we then begin to sort the coulor Acrylic on the timber panel ready to be glued on to the back of the panel.

Recycled Paper Ceiling Laylight.          This was a simple process, we collected some transparent colored recycled paper.  Then cut them into the leaves and berry shapes and pasted them onto the back of the timber panel.

Stained Glass Shop

This is a shop own by my dad, his a specialist in stained glass windows.  At his shop there are some off cut glass, which I thought would be useful for everyone to see the different types of glass that are available and can be such a treasure to find. Enjoy.

Second Hand Building Supplies – 21 Block Street, Thomastown, VIC.

My first impression was like “wow” where do you start, it reminded me of going to a retail sale store where you have to dig into the pale of clothes to get to the good stuff.  Overall I had heaps of fun, especially when you find something as simple as a small floral pattern ceramic tile.  You get such a excitement feeling inside, like a little kid in a candy store.  I look forward to visiting a demolition yard again in the near future.

Cafe Sustain

454 Church Street, Richmond, VIC

This building is in a prime retail strip located on the corner of Church Street and Swan Street, Richmond.  It’s next to ANZ bank and opposite to the Swan Hotel.  Along Church Street there is a high density of office buildings and it’s situated in front of a tram stop, as well as only meters away from East Richmond Railway station.

With a high flow of people traffic getting on and off the tram or train this building space would be an ideal location to serve the cafe loving public.  People waiting for their train or tram can pop in and out easily.  It’s a good opportunity for business people who need a comfortable place to meet or even simply to get out for a quick break.  There is also parking at the rear of the building as well as restrooms.  If advertised and laid out appropriately it could also be an ideal get-away spot for mothers in the Richmond area wanting to meet up with other mothers.

Overall a cafe in this location can provide great refreshments as well as breakfast, brunch or lunch to a broad demographic.
